Mostar

This one day excursion to Mostar will take you through the most fertile part of Croatia – Neretva Valley. Leaving that beautiful – untouched environment abundant of orange trees, we are entering a Croatian neighboring country Bosnia and Herzegovina, one of the last undiscovered regions of the southern Alps. The range of diverse landscape will stun and amaze you. Poèitelj – our first stop is a quaint oriental style town perched on a hillside. This unique settlement, listed as a UNESCO heritage site and recent reconstruction has returned the town to its original form.

Driving along the coast of Neretva river we are coming to Mostar which is the centre of Herzegovina – Neretva Canton. Various cultures and religious over the centuries have left certain traces and the most important are: Mostar's core - the famous Old Bridge, the Bazzar, the Mosque and a typical Turkish house. Do not miss to taste “Cevapcici”- a popular Balkan dish of grilled minced meat, of oriental origin. Hand mixed and formed with a funnel, usually served on a plate or in a flatbread (lepinja or somun), often with chopped onions, sour cream, kajmak, ajvar...
